James Forsyth
Principal Consultant – Operations, Supply Chain & Manufacturing

About the Role

Paragon Talent is supporting a global natural ingredients business with the appointment of 2 Product Managers to support a growing portfolio of granulates, drops, inclusions and related dried ingredient solutions.

The portfolio serves customers across bakery, confectionery, snacks, cereals and other food applications, combining natural raw materials with advanced drying and processing technologies.

These roles offer responsibility for the strategy, commercial performance and development of assigned product groups. Working closely with sales, R&D, pricing and supply chain colleagues, you will identify opportunities, develop competitive product ranges and help turn innovation into profitable growth.

The business unit is growing faster than originally anticipated and is investing in its product management capability. You will join an expanding team, with scope to influence your portfolio and develop your career within an international organisation.

The Role

You will manage an assigned global or regional product portfolio, supporting its development throughout the product lifecycle.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing product strategies aligned with the wider business unit’s objectives.
  • Maintaining a competitive, commercially relevant and profitable product range.
  • Identifying opportunities for growth through market analysis, customer insight and competitor intelligence.
  • Monitoring revenue, margin and market share, and working with sales colleagues to improve performance.
  • Working with pricing teams to shape pricing strategy and manage margins across your product groups.
  • Collaborating with R&D and supply chain colleagues on product development, availability and portfolio decisions.
  • Supporting innovation projects, with responsibility for commercial input, launch planning and market development.
  • Joining customer meetings, projects and briefings to share product expertise and understand application needs.
  • Coordinating with global and regional product managers to align portfolio activity and share opportunities across markets.
  • Providing product training and keeping sales teams informed about portfolio developments and positioning.
  • The balance of global and regional responsibility will depend on the portfolio assigned to each position.

About You

You will bring relevant product management experience within food ingredients, food manufacturing, dairy, beverages or a related B2B industry.

We are particularly interested in candidates who combine an understanding of food applications with strong commercial judgement and the ability to work across technical and commercial teams.

You should be able to demonstrate:

  • Around 3 to 5 years of relevant product management experience.
  • Experience developing product strategies and translating them into practical commercial activity.
  • An understanding of pricing, margins, portfolio performance and product lifecycle management.
  • The ability to assess market opportunities using customer feedback, sales data and competitor insight.
  • Confidence working with customers and supporting sales teams with product and application knowledge.
  • Experience collaborating with R&D, sales, pricing and supply chain colleagues.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities within an international organisation.
  • Willingness to travel internationally for customer meetings, market development and internal collaboration.

Experience specifically within freeze-dried ingredients is not essential. Knowledge of relevant food markets, commercial awareness and the curiosity to develop expertise in a specialist portfolio are more important.

A qualification in food technology, food science, business administration or a related discipline would be relevant, alongside practical industry experience.

The Opportunity

You will join a growing business unit with an established international customer base and access to experienced product management, commercial and technical colleagues.

These positions offer:

  • Ownership of an assigned product portfolio and the opportunity to influence its direction.
  • Involvement in pricing, innovation, market development and commercial strategy.
  • Direct exposure to customers and applications across a range of food markets.
  • The opportunity to take products from development through to launch and commercial growth.
  • A supportive team with extensive product and technical knowledge.
  • Scope to develop into broader product management or commercial responsibilities as the business grows.

The positions are expected to operate on a hybrid basis, normally with 3 days per week in the office.
